The Kyzyl-Jyldyz case (2022)
In March 2022 the US buyer of the palomino colt Kün-Bala had him retested, and the result didn't match his registered sire. The case showed that DNA samples for foals of the Kyzyl-Jyldyz stud near Talas (2017-21) had been swapped. The Syndicate struck 31 horses from the National Akyel Studbook and moved its testing abroad in 2023. In June 2023 the Talas District Court convicted the breeder and a laboratory technician.
Below are the horses we hold whose sire was corrected after the retests, and the struck horses whose parentage was never confirmed. The struck horses keep the parents they were registered with, marked as unverified.
